10 rules for success in any industry

After seeing an Instagram post of Jason Garte @mr_mix_ of an old email he sent himself of the 10 rules for success in any industry, I decided to share these with my fans and followers and give my own thought on each. So here it goes:

1. Learn to fall in love with the pain of hard work.

Nothing great ever comes easy in life. You need to be strong all the time and learn to enjoy the hardships, because at those points is when you know you are growing; like "growing pains" . There will be ups and there will DEFINITELY be downs of getting somewhere great. Most people will notice the ups around you, but most wont ever know when you are down, and if they do, most likely they will walk away.

2. Know that pain is temporary.

There is NO evil that last for eternity. So know that you won't live in that black hole for ever. If you persist and push through, things will work out one way or another at the end.

3. Every day matters.

For me this relates to consistency. Consistency is ABSOLUTELY important in everything in life and it correlates to persistence. Famous quote by Babe Ruth says "You just can’t beat the person who won’t give up.” So put in the work every day, no matter how little it is, and you are guarantee some kind of result at the end of it.

4. Return every phone call.

You never know what call, or what person will connect you to the next step, level or process of your progress. So be kind to everyone and always get back to anything no matter how small it may seem at the time.

5. Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.

A lot of the time you can only control a certain portion of most of your success, and there might be a lot of moving parts. Do your part to the best of your abilities without letting other uncontrollable factors derail you.

6. To get what you want, you must do things you don't want to do.

There is always the crappy boss, the hard client, the boring meeting or the painful business decisions of letting go of someone. You must put up with that crap a lot of the time and have patience to get what you want at the end.

7. Know what you don't know.

Be aware of your weaknesses and always try to improve on them, or go to someone who has strengths in those areas.

8. Respect the commodity of persistence.

The game is ALWAYS about not giving up and pushing through. Being persistent every day, every breath and in everything you do towards that goal is key.

9. The more successful you become, the more humble you should be.

Staying humble keeps you grounded. The world works in mysterious ways; one day you might be at the highest point, and the next you might be underground. So be kind and be humble and no matter what the situation is, you will float through the storm.

10. If you respect someone's success, do not feel ashamed to imitate their successful behavior. Remember #9 though.

NUFF SAID!

Ultra Music Festival 2013

After witnessing the music, energy and commotion around Ultra Music Festival 2013 in Miami I decided to transform my brand into a single product that thousands of people can enjoy. I have put my music, production and performance at the forefront of it all which is known as flyrodu which describes who I am as a Dj, producer and artist through dance music. After years of listening and being influenced by artist like Skrillex, Deadmau5, David Guetta, Benny Benassi and most recently people such as Knife Party and Dub Fire I have decided to bring my own flare of dance music by introducing more acoustic elements and a more classical language making this a unique listening experience for the already overwhelming amount of content of dance music.  I feel like as of lately Dj's seem to just press play, and performance of the music is taken little into account and this is something I want to bring onto the scene. I want to to make LIVE dance music where the performance interaction is more direct with the feeling of the audience.

Currently I am working on collaborating with all the best local Miami Djs to create pure organic house fire! In the works is an EP due to be released in June and performed throughout the rest of this coming 2013 year. I will be posting weekly updating on progress and releasing some soundbites and information on the people I am collaborating with and keeping this whole production very interactive for all!
